OuQiao Technology Industrial Park Hosts Overseas Chinese Events Celebrating National Day and Marking
On September 14, 2026, a series of events for Hungary’s overseas Chinese community took place at the OuQiao Cultural Exchange Center in Hungary: a choral concert celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a symposium commemorating the 160th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s birth, and a screening of the Chinese film “Love Letter to Grandma.” Ambassador Gong Tao attended and delivered remarks. More than 300 people took part, including Zhao Yongguo, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary; Hu Qiao, Head of the Consular Section for Overseas Chinese Affairs; Consul Luo Rushan; Li Denggui, Director of the Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest; and representatives of overseas Chinese associations and the media.

Ambassador Gong Tao said that Dr. Sun Yat-sen was a great national hero, patriot and pioneer of China’s democratic revolution. He hoped that overseas Chinese in Hungary would carry forward the spirit of Sun Yat-sen and contribute to the full advancement of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the complete reunification of the motherland, and friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Hungary.
The concert opened with the national anthems of China and Hungary, followed by a program of martial arts demonstrations, instrumental solos and orchestral performances, and the entire audience sang “Ode to the Motherland.” At the symposium, a short commemorative film, The Life of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, was screened, and representatives of overseas Chinese associations laid flower baskets before the portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The Chinese film “Love Letter to Grandma” was screened after the events.

The events were jointly hosted by the General Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations in Hungary, the Hungarian Association for the Peaceful Reunification of China, the Hungary Lishui Qingtian Association, the Hungary Fuqing Association, the Hungary Mingxi Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Overseas Chinese Women in Hungary and the Hungary Rui’an Association, with the Hungary Anhui Chamber of Commerce as co-organizer. The OuQiao Technology Industrial Park provided the venue and support, and will continue to serve as a platform for supporting overseas Chinese and promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Hungary.
