Li Qiang stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Orban, China Hungary's mutually beneficial cooperation has achieved fruitful results, setting a model for building a new type of international relations. China is willing to work together with Hungary to continuously translate important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries into practical actions, to be a true friend of mutual support, a fellow traveler of development and prosperity, and a good partner of mutual understanding and affinity, in order to better benefit the people of both countries.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to build a solid foundation of political mutual trust with Hungary and continue to firmly support each other's sovereignty, security, and development interests. China is willing to promote closer connection between the "the Belt and Road" initiative and Hungary's "opening to the east" strategy, and work together to promote the continuous improvement and upgrading of practical cooperation in trade, investment, finance and other fields. Accelerate the construction of the Hungary Serbia Railway project, expand innovative cooperation in areas such as new energy, digital economy, and artificial intelligence, and better assist the two countries in achieving their respective development goals. Both sides need to deepen cultural exchanges in education, tourism, sports, and other fields, and consolidate the public opinion foundation of the bilateral relationship. China is willing to strengthen multilateral communication and cooperation with Hungary, safeguard the common interests of both countries, and promote the development of global governance towards a more just and reasonable direction. China’s development is an opportunity, not a challenge, a driving force, not a risk for Europe. We hope that Hungary will continue to play a positive role in strengthening cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and promoting the development of China Europe relations.
Orban stated that the relationship between Hungary and China has a profound foundation. Hungary has always adhered to the one China principle, will continue to pursue a friendly policy towards China, actively participate in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", support connectivity, open cooperation, and oppose decoupling and closure. Hungary is willing to work with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and promote further development of Hungary China relations, as well as cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and EU countries with China, taking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity.
After the talks, the prime ministers of the two countries jointly witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents, including the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", industry and investment, industry and informatization, education, customs, supply chain, development policy, digital economy, green development and so on.
Before the meeting, Li Qiang held a welcome ceremony for Orban in the North Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
