Hefei High-Tech-30 Years of Rapid Progress
From 1991 to 2021, Hefei High-tech Zone has been pursuing high-tech development for thirty years, and forging ahead rapidly. This year, March 6th marks the 30th anniversary of the State Council’s approval of the first batch of national high-tech zones. Hefei High-tech Zone also handed in answers to the satisfaction of the people.
It is understood that Hefei Science and Technology Industrial Park, the predecessor of Hefei High-tech Zone, was established in 1988.In 1990, the foundation of Hefei High-tech Zone was officially laid, and the grand picture of "developing high technology and realizing industrialization" has been opened since then;
Highlights of Hefei High-tech Zone
On March 6, 1991, Hefei Science and Technology Industrial Park was approved by the State Council as the first batch of high-tech industrial development zones in the country. In the early days of its establishment, the Hefei High-tech Zone, no matter its area or economic volume, was at the back of the 21 state-level development zones in the country.
In 1994, thanks to the "Opinions on Further Accelerating the Construction of Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone" by the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, more favorable policies were given to the high-tech zone. A number of projects with high technical level and large industrial scale, such as Wanya Electronics and Anhui Modern Television Technology Research Institute, entered the zone. The high-tech industry is beginning to take shape. At the National High-tech Zone Working Conference held by the National Science and Technology Commission in Suzhou, it called on all localities to learn from the "Hefei Model".
In 1997, it was approved as the first batch of "China APEC Science and Technology Industrial Parks";
In 2004, the Hefei National Science and Technology Innovation Pilot City Demonstration Zone started construction;
In 2011, it became the first high-tech zone in the province with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan;
In 2015, the district achieved a total industrial output value of 152.7 billion yuan, ranking eighth in the comprehensive uation of the National High-tech Zone by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and successfully ranked first among the national high-tech zones.
In 2017, the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center started construction in Hefei High-tech Zone, and a large number of major scientific and technological infrastructures have been implemented one after another. Hefei High-tech Zone has become a "key town" for building the country's core strategic scientific and technological power.
In April 2018, Hefei High-tech Zone was officially included in the construction sequence of "World-Class High-tech Park" by the Ministry of Science and Technology, starting a new journey.
In 2019, Hefei High-tech Zone became popular across the board, with GDP breaking through the 100 billion mark (103.34 billion yuan), and a growth rate of 10.2% far surpassing Hefei (7.6%);There are 167 newly recognized national high-tech enterprises, with a total of 1192, accounting for 46% of the city...... In the national high-tech zone list, it beats Hangzhou high-tech zone...... After 28 years of strenuous construction, this innovative land has expanded from 2.2 square kilometers to 128 square kilometers, ranking first in the country in the comprehensive ranking of 168 national high-tech zones.
